Getting Ready

Everyone I talk to about Africa keeps telling me to "be careful over there." Well, I can assure you that I won't be running around barefoot in piles of broken glass, drinking out of marshy ponds, wandering the streets alone at night, or eating raw meat, so all those worry-worts out there can relax. I'm a very safety-oriented person, a bit to a fault...I spend nights online reading about mosquitoes. Apparently, lighter clothing and cat nip oil are two ways to make you less attractive to them. Nonetheless, I shall be slathered in DEET and wearing long sleeves. 4 days and counting....
